Paul left Harrow County in 1974 and graduated in geology from Kingston Polytechnic
in 1977.
He has spent the last 35 years working as a petroleum geologist in oil and gas exploration
and has been responsible for the discovery of a number of large oil and gas fields
in the UK, Africa and the Middle East.
He is currently Chief Geologist of a leading British independent oil company. He
is also an Associate Lecturer with the Open University, for whom he has taught for
some 13 years, specialising for the last 10 years, in the geological evidence for
climate change.
Paul has also been an Open University student for a number of years, accumulating
further Bachelor’s degrees in Pure & Applied Maths and Psychology. Research for
a long-planned Ph.D., investigating the evidence for climate change in the 300 million
year old rocks of north-west England and the Central Libyan Desert has had to be
postponed for the time being!
